Waru Collectables — Cancellation, Return & Refund Policy

At Waru Collectables, we are committed to providing a fair and transparent experience for all hobbyists and collectors. Because the trading card, sports memorabilia, and collectibles market experiences rapid price fluctuations and high demand, we enforce a strict policy to prevent speculative buying and ensure genuine fans get access to stock at fair prices.

By placing an order on our Shopify store or in-person at our retail storefront, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Order Cancellations (Prior to Shipping/Pickup)

If you change your mind and wish to cancel an order before it has been dispatched or picked up, you may request a cancellation. However, all cancelled orders are subject to a 10% Restocking & Administration Fee.

  • Why we charge this fee: When you secure an item, it is taken out of our inventory, preventing other collectors from purchasing it. Additionally, payment processors (such as Shopify Payments, Square, or PayPal) do not refund their transaction processing fees to us when an order is cancelled.

  • The Calculation: The 10% fee is calculated based on the total purchase price of the items cancelled (excluding shipping costs) and will be deducted from your final refund amount.

  • Exclusion: The 10% restocking fee will not apply if the cancellation is due to an error made entirely by Waru Collectables (e.g., an inventory discrepancy or an accidental oversell).

2. Pre-Order Cancellations

Pre-orders lock in allocations for highly anticipated upcoming releases (such as new Pokémon expansions, Select NRL sets, or special-edition Funko Pops).

  • Any cancellation of a pre-order item prior to the official release date will incur the standard 10% Restocking & Administration Fee.

  • We cannot accept cancellations on pre-orders once the manufacturer's allocation window has closed and our final stock numbers have been locked in.

3. Returns & Change of Mind (After Delivery/Pickup)

Due to the volatile nature of the collectibles market, we do not accept returns or offer refunds for "change of mind" once a product has been delivered or collected.

To maintain the absolute integrity of our inventory for our community, all sales are final on the following products:

  • Sealed Trading Card Game (TCG) products (Booster Boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes, Blisters, Packs).

  • Individual Trading Card Singles.

  • Factory-sealed Sports Card boxes and packs.

For non-card products (such as apparel, display cases, or un-vaulted Funko Pops), a return may be considered within 14 days of purchase under the following strict conditions:

  • The item must be completely unopened, unused, and in its original, undamaged factory packaging.

  • The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. We highly recommend using a tracked service with insurance, as Waru Collectables is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

  • Approved "change of mind" returns will be refunded minus the standard 10% Restocking Fee.

4. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

We take immense pride in our packaging to ensure your items arrive in collector-grade condition. In the rare event that your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, you are fully protected under Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

  • Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt and contact us within 48 hours at refunds@warucollectables.com.au with your order number, clear photographs of the transit packaging, and the damaged item.

  • If an item has a genuine manufacturing defect or was damaged in transit prior to delivery, we will arrange a replacement at no extra cost to you. If a replacement is unavailable, a full refund (including shipping) will be issued.

  • Important TCG Note: Minor cosmetic imperfections on external factory shrink-wrap, foil packaging, or cardboard booster boxes do not qualify as a product defect. We cannot guarantee perfect external packaging from the manufacturer.

5. Scalper & Fair Play Policy Violations

Waru Collectables is a "Collector-First" business. If our systems detect that a customer is utilizing automated bots, multiple accounts to bypass household limits, or clear scalping practices to stockpile high-demand releases, we reserve the right to cancel the order immediately.

  • Orders cancelled due to a violation of our Scalpers & Fair Play Policy will be refunded minus a 15% Penalty and Restocking Fee to cover administration costs and system audits.

6. Processing Your Refund

Once a refund or cancellation is approved, it will be processed back to your original method of payment (e.g., Credit Card, Square, Shopify Balance). Please allow 3 to 7 business days for the funds to clear into your account, depending on your banking institution's processing times.
